Low-Tech – Freedom, Creativity & Love. Translating Erich Fromm’s Psychoanalysis into Analyses of Architecture

In the approach of ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’, ‘reduce’ is commonly regarded as most advisable. Yet surprisingly little attention drawn to low-tech movement which strives promote this approach. This often perceived a marginal curiosity rather than serious architectural proposition. Low-tech architecture associated with unprocessed, simple materials occasionally discussed in publications, but analyses rarely form satisfactory definition what is. This paper suggests new perspective on based concepts Erich Fromm – not an architect, prolific thinker who built bridges between psychoanalysis and social processes. His vastly underestimated work deserves today even more ever before. attempts translate Fromm’s into theory thus shed light by doing so prepare platform for future research.
